Getting here and staying here
- How do I book SugarSki Haven, and where is the best rate?
- You can reserve either condo three ways: on Airbnb, on VRBO, or directly through our own OwnerRez booking site. OwnerRez is the best value because longer stays receive automatic discounts and there are no platform service fees. Every option is instant and self-service — no waiting for a quote.
- Do I have to contact you to get a discount?
- No. Discounts on longer stays are applied automatically at checkout on our OwnerRez booking site. Contact us only if you have a question or need help with something during your stay.
- Which units are available and how many guests do they sleep?
- Two renovated condos at Sugar Ski & Country Club on Sugar Mountain, NC. The two bedroom, two bath sleeps up to 6 guests and sits just steps away from OMA's lift. The one bedroom, one bath sleeps up to 4 guests and is ideal for couples or a small family.
- Are the condos really ski-in/ski-out?
- Yes. Sugar Ski & Country Club is the only true ski-in/ski-out condominium resort on Sugar Mountain. In winter you can walk out the door and reach the slopes on foot — the two bedroom is just steps away from OMA's lift, with no driving or parking hunt.
- What time is check-in and check-out?
- Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. There is a two-night minimum stay. Access details are sent to you before arrival, so check-in is self-service — no key pickup or office visit.
- What is the cancellation policy?
- Booking direct through OwnerRez: full refund for cancellations made at least 30 days before check-in; within 30 days, a refund is issued only if the dates are re-booked. Reservations made on Airbnb or VRBO follow that platform's stated policy.
- What amenities are included with a stay?
- Both condos are fully equipped with a kitchen, fireplace, linens, towels, and fast wifi. Resort amenities at Sugar Ski & Country Club include an indoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness center, seasonal tennis and pickleball courts, and outdoor grills and picnic areas.
- Are pets or smoking allowed?
- No. Both condos are non-smoking and we are unable to accept pets.
- Do I need a four wheel drive vehicle or snow chains to reach the condo?
- During inclement weather the Village of Sugar Mountain requires vehicles traveling on the mountain to have Four Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive, or snow chains. Warnings are posted at the bottom of the mountain. If you drive up and become stuck, Sugar Mountain PD can ticket you and you are responsible for towing. Questions from your unit: call Town Hall at (828) 898-9292.
- Is Sugar Mountain worth visiting outside of ski season?
- Yes. At roughly 5,300 feet the summers stay about ten degrees cooler than the lowlands, spring brings waterfalls at full flow and empty trails, and October delivers some of the best fall color in the East. Hiking, mountain biking, golf, wineries and festivals run all year, with Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway close by.
